I want to make elements from scratch and I'm not very good.  I can make a few very simple ones.  I want to know how to make a bird or a car or something.

here is all I can make

And you know annie I can make a few little things you have seen but, how do you guys make all the birds and flowers and things with the detail..  Do you copy someone else and recolor or do you make them from scratch.

I want to make them from scratch and don't know how.

I'm trying to make a soda pop top, I got one from the net (from the 50"s)

I'm trying to make my own.

here is what I have so fr and there isn't enough depth is there?

Arrrrrgh!

I don't have dodge and burn, any ideas?

Ok so I know this isn't a bird but I got carried away this morning....lol

I start with a shape and then another, I keep everything on a seperate layer till I'm happy with the way things look.

I use a lot of tools, I use brushes to color, I use the dodge and burn tool to add shading and highlights, I use textures, I use blending modes.

And since I'm not an artist and can't draw very well, what I did for her face was take a picture of a person, lowered the opacity then on a layer above that I started outlining the features. Then I deleted the picture and just went back to my tools and started blending and so on.

I know this isn't really a good explanation but it's really just a matter of starting with a shape and just playing around and let your imagination run wild.

Mine ran so wild that I spent the whole morning working on my new friend....lol Now I need a name for her....rofl

hmm what if you try duplicating that shape you have, make it smaller, play around with bevels? No dodge and burn BUMMER

Great try there Miawa, I say he does need some hair.

What I do instead of using the actual picture of the person I just use it as a guide to draw on the features and then throw away the picture itself. But yours works too

Rectangle, square, circles and some stamps

What are they?
