Semi-medical advice (possible tmi)

I'm asking for a friend since she doesn't have the net at her house right now and she isn't sure if she should make an appointment or not.

So here it is. She has a history of semi-chronic yeast infections because she gets sick a lot and has to take antibiotics more than most people. The issue this time, is after her last round with the treatment, she has developed...an odor. At first, only she could tell and so she tried douching, thinking maybe it was because she had her period directly after the treatment. But it didn't help. Now, a couple weeks later, the odor is enough that other people notice it if she bends over or doesn't keep her legs closed when she sits. I told her she should call her GYN but she said she was thinking of just going to urgent care because she's embarrassed (he's kind of...well, a LOT, hott lol).

I think she should see somebody who specializes in that area because it could be something pretty serious and the risk she takes with urgent care is simply another round of antibiotics and another yeast infection...and a high bill and possibly not even fix the problem. What would you ladies say?

The odor...is like a mix of like old blood and feces. I say that's a pretty serious infection and needs the care of a specialist.

Agreed - tell her to schedule an appointment with a GYN, if she's too embarrassed to see her own, he probably shouldn't be her doc for one thing, for another she could always schedule with another doc or different clinic next town over etc.

Thank you! That's what I said. I just showed her your post and she said she is going to call and make an appointment with my GYN after Christmas (they are closed until then anyway). lol I told her it's probably not a good thing that she's turned on by her GYN, and even though he has never done anything to be misconstrued as wrong...it's really not good for her to be MAJORLY turned on by him. Thanks again!
