I know, I know.  We're all so busy these days with our kids, families jobs...and diving is...well face it.  It's an EXPENSIVE sport.

But, aqua_mom made a fantastic suggestion--let's plan our fantasy vacation!!!

So, where would you go, and what would you want to see?

Let's hear it, and let your imaginations go wild!!!

I would go back to the North side of the Domincan Republic in September for some whale diving. I have a friend there who is a dive master and would love to take a group out!

I'm in the middle of a d-i-v-o-r-c-e, so maybe a mom and kids only trip is in order!

I would love that trip-- I have never seen whales in the wild.  Keep me posted I am sure we could get a group to go.

My fantasy trip was one we planned and even put a deposit down...but we were also trying to get pregnant. (Can you tell we were hedging our bets? ;-)
Turns out we got pregnant before we could take the trip, and in fact my older daughter was born 2 months before we would have take this trip...

Imagine this if you will...

2 weeks on liveaboards. 1 week on the Palau Aggressor. Palau... Palau's mushroom-shaped rock islands offer a variety of exciting dives: WWII wrecks, shark-infested channels, blue holes, a freshwater lake with stingless jellyfish and even a few caves. There are also sheer walls covered in lush soft corals and huge anemones.

Oh, and the 2nd week? On the Truk Aggressor.
Diving magnificent wrecks which have become amazing artificial reefs.

Someday...it's a trip of a lifetime, so we'll just have to wait a little longer before we take it!

I'd love to plan a dive trip to Belize or on a liveaboard in the Great Barrier Reef.

I'd love to go to Belize also. Or back to the Sea of Cortez and this time, actually see the whale sharks. I've always wanted to swim with a whale shark.

I would love to go someplace new to dive like Palau, Galapagos, Great Barrier Reef...everywhere everyone's mentioned.  I dove in Belize and that was great!  Cozumel was just gorgeous, and St. Croix was so much fun too!  I got my basic and advanced certs there.  I'd love to swim with whale sharks and manta rays.  I'm about to start my separation process with eventual divorce, so it would be nice to plan a vacation somewhere.

Thanks for posting this.  I haven't been on cafemom in a while but I get back when I can.  Just so busy with the kids, keeping my Arbonne biz up, and also job hunting--my husband just moved most of his stuff out this past Saturday and we still need to inform the kids...just trying to find the right time/way to approach them....ugh. :P

I love this group--keeps my scuba spirits alive!! :)

Christina...where did you get your signature, I love that! :)

Have a great day!

Patty

Well I think I am living in the fantasy vacation. I live in Aruba and the beach is basically my backyard. We see whales and dolphins, and turtles everyday, and it's absolutley gorgeous!

My fantasy vacation - Thailand or any of the other places previously mentioned on a liveaboard. Here is how it would work. It would be a families only charter with kids of any and all ages. Staterooms would be large to accommodate familes or have adjoining quarters.

There would be women on board who were paid to take care of our children while we dive and play with them and they would also be massage therapists for those times when we need a massage after so much diving. They would plan nice dinners for the adults after kids have gone to bed complete with steak, wine and whatever our hearts desire. The cooks would prepare healthy meals for the kids as well.

There would be special classes for the kiddies who wanted to learn how to swim/snorkel and we could spend time with our little ones in the ocean.

We would be at sea for two weeks with no phones or internet connection.

How's this sound? ;)

OMG that is a BRILLIANT idea!  I LOVE IT!!!

I know that the Aggressor Fleet has some special cruises that are family friendly.  But I'm pretty sure it doesn't include all the perks that you mention!  LOL
