I've been wracking my brain, but I'm so bad at it. I wanted to say surgeon fish or sergeant major but I don't think either of those is right. Ugh, and I see these guys all the time- my brain is worthless ;)

How about a hint? ;)

Oh, these fish are so cool! I think I remember these from a dive trip to Cozumel.

It is a type of grouper.  The specific kind of grouper here is a really BIG one. 
It was known by another name that was considered not politically correct, so then they renamed it by another name that contains the word grouper...

Anyone else with guesses?
