I will get some pics soon but my 10 year old son was asked to do a special report in his 4th grade class about Project Aware.  They are learning about it and since the Teacher knows that he is a certified Diver, she asked him to speak in front of the class.  NOw, this kid has severe ADHD and disgraphia.  That in no way stops him from being a great diver!  I am going to see if my DH can record it or something.  I just want to cry!  We made a poster board with pictures of himself and cool fish.  I'll take some pictures and add them laters!  I just wanted to share.

Very Cool! I can't wait till my boys can be certified!  You have every right to be proud. Way to go MOM!!!!

This is my husband and son on his first ocean dive. We went to Cancun in March 08 and he even went night diving.  He was hit in the leg by a sea urchant but he was fin a few days later... thank goodness for his full wetsuit!

That's great.  I can't wait until my son is old enough to go diving with us, he turns 6 in October.  We all just got back from the Florida Keys.  My husband and I went diving and he had to stay at the kids camp at the hotel/resort.  He had a good time, but I wish he could have been with us, especially the dive we saw nurse sharks --  he would have been so excited.  It is just great that your son's teacher recognized him for his accomplishments.  All kids need to feel that they offer something special.  Especially those that need to be challenged every day like ADHD kids; we have been told that our son is  ADHD as well.

I can't wait to get Alessandra certified but we have a ways to go, she's just 16months now!

As soon as she can swim though we are taking her snorkeling :)
