I love to dive and most of my opportunities came through my parents. My absolute favorite place to dive was in the aquarium at the Living Seas in Epcot. If I can get my VHS player to work, I'll try to upload a clip.

Great topic!

Oh, YEAH! The Living Seas was a LOT of fun to dive in, even if the water was COLD! Brrrr!

What's my favorite? Hmmm. There are so many. Each place that we've gone diving has had its own unique character. Probably the Cayman Islands. We dove off the Cayman Aggressor Liveaboard all week, and some of our best diving was around Little Cayman. I think that was where we met up with all the friendly groupers. I don't totally remember, but I'm pretty sure it was Little Cayman.

I also loved diving Bonaire--the shore diving was spectacular and very easy. The wall was not too far out and not a sheer drop, so you could dive to whatever depth you were comfortable with. In the shallows, there was lots to see, if you peeked in and under the coral outcrops.

I also enjoyed diving Cozumel, but it's more challenging, in a way, because of the currents. It's drift diving, so you just let the current take you along, and you don't have to kick except to steer. The boat follows you, so you don't even have to really navigate--the boat follows you and comes to you to pick you up. It's more challenging because if you want to stop to look at something--it's a lot harder to stay still with the currents!

Those would be some of the highlights of my favorite places to dive. One place that definitely *isn't* on my favorites list is the quarry near Haymarket, VA! ;-)

My favorite so far was Molokini Crater in Hawaii, off the coast of Maui. The visibility was incredible, 100ft plus with a lot of caves nearby, including shark caves.

I haven't dived this year (yet) and my places have been limited to the Eastern and Western Carribbean, so I would have to say diving in Belize, Cozumel, and St. Croix.  Belize was amazing, but the water was sooo choppy the time I went due to a storm that had passed thru.  Cozumel was so breathtaking and my IL's lived in St. Croix so we got to dive the wall and the wrecks many times.  THe viz was fantastic in all 3 areas.

Best for reef diving right off shore,  no long boat trips,  is definetely Bonaire.
