Any thyroid medicine should be taken on an empty stomach, that if you take vitamins you should wait four hours before taking it after your thyroid medicine.

Also find out if fruits or foods mess with your medicine.

My new endro told us this

Right.

I was told the same thing and always wait an hour or two before I have breakfast.

Thanks for sharing that.

Oh yeah. Also drink a full glass of water with the medicine helps as well! Thanks for the info :)

If you take desiccated thyroid meds like Erfa Thyroid from Canada sublingually, you don't have to wait.

Yep, I did my research and my doctors informed me of all this. I'm pretty careful about this stuff, I want to make sure everything is going as well as it's supposed to.

I was told recently to by my Doctor though I usually do wait an hour.

This way it is in my system before I eat. Whats an hour?

I hardly ever eat when I first get up and its the first medication, out of a few I take a day.

I heard that it is better to take them before bed. That way you have little or no interaction from gfoods or vitamins such as Iron, cereall can prevent absorption in the morning.

Gee I can't type today! LOL I also chew mine, it helps them to absorb better. A tip my my endo.
