Breast Cancer

Hi my name is Tawana and i do not have breast cancer. It runs through my moms side of the family and my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. When we found out she had cancer the dr said she had had it for years. My great aunt passed away with breast cancer a couple years ago and my aunt along with a dozen more family members has been diagnosed with it but managed to get through the battle. I support breast cancer i crochet cancer slouchy berrets (hats) and buy as much cancer awareness products although i havent been able to donate because i am a 17 year old parent. It bothers me from time to time to think that i am at a high risk to be diagnosed with cancer later in my life especially after hearing about all my grandmothers close female relatives dieing from it. I wrote this post to share my cancer story and make friends and talk to and share information about cancer not just breast cancer so please reply back to this message or add me as a friend.

Welcome to the group.

I do not have breast cancer either and it does not run in my family.

This is a wonderful group of ladies and I am sure you will make many friends while you are here.

Crocheting those hats is a wonderful thing that you do.  I also crochet but haven't been successful at making much more than a blanket.

Once again welcome to the group!  And thank you for sharing your story.
