I haven't posted a lot recently...think my last post had to do with my starting on Faslodex in September.
For those I've not "met" here...I have Stage 4 (right breast) with it also in my legs, right hip, spine and in September discovered in my liver, as well. June through September 2010 I went through IV chemo and radiation. Then was on oral (Arimidex) and in the fall of this year Faslodex (injections). Now I will be back on IV chemo beginning the 27th of this month. My first experience with this was not good--I stayed dehydrated and sick all the time, with so much time hospitalized. I'm told to expect nausea again, as well as losing my new hair again...
I want to be better preapred this go-round. Do you have any hints/suggestions on the nausea? Doctor gave me 2 nausea prescriptions (Zofran and Reglan), I had these last time and was still sick. So looking for tips to help me more...
Thanks, y'all!
Linda
I too was given a couple of different anti-nausea drugs, but found if you start taking them before you even starting getting nauseous it was much better. It's like taking pain meds or motrin before the pain kicks in after surgery.
Good luck and hopefully it won't be too bad this time around!![]()
I did this also made tea with the ginger root with lemon and honey and it worked.

Linda, she is right. i took the nausea drugs before the treatments and.they worked much better. Also, I got ginger drops (hard candies) at the health food store and fresh ginger root in the produce dept. made ginger tea and sucked on the candy. hope this helps, will be praying for you.
I am sorry you have to go threw this again. I hope you can find something to help ease your discomforts. Prayers and thoughts with you while you go threw this journey again.
Linda I am so sorry that you're having to go through all of this again. I was on both the zofran and metoclopromide (reglan) and I always took the reglan before the infusion and every four hours for at least the first two days. I was also on Emend, which is extremely expensive, but well worth it if it is within your means.

Keeping you in my prayers.

Thanks everyone--I am sure going to try all yuor suggestions!! @ Nora--was on Emend last time as well. It hadn't been out very long then. I remember the nurses reading the literature on it. @ deesam and @pinkforever I wil also try the ginger!
THANKS to you all for taking the time to help me!
I drank ginger ale and ate pretzels. Pretzels are suppose to be better than crackers. I had Zofran in my IV , and took it regularly for 2 days. Try to eat a little several times a day. It doesn't make sence but if you can eat a little it really does help. Good luck!!
Hi Linda
If you are ok with it, would you mind emailing me? I am interested in knowing how you found out and got diagnosed? My email is tml_650@yahoo.com
Hi Linda,
Just want to let you know, especially at this time of year, that you and many other fellow breast cancer patients will be in my thoughts and prayers and you will get through this again. We are a tough group of women and we know how to fight and will not let cancer win.
Have a good holiday season and hopefully a healthy New Year!![]()
