Pain in breast where I had lymphnodes taken out...

I told my dr before thanksgiving that i had some pains in my breast (where I had the cancer , but had a double mastectomy) , and he had me a full body scan done. Since I work in the afternoons and he only has visitation in the afternoons, we kinda played phonetag but he left me a message that the results came out good but that he wanted to speak to me in person. I went to the hospital and they gave him my phone # again but never called me back. The pain is worse now and I wonder what it could be. Should I be scared? It s like a sharp pain coming from my armpit to the bottomside of my breast. Has anyone experienced that?

I didn't have a mastecomy but I do get sharp pain at times where I had the surgery.  My oncologist is hands on; I wouldn't worry but I would still get it checked out.  I would even see another doctor since this one doesn't sound too concern.  He may not be concern but you're the one that went through the difficult time & to give you comfort its his job to check things out.  Stay on that doctor until your satisfy; you can even ask your surgeon.

I had a lumpectomy 2 years ago and I remember having pains too.  I know my dr told me that my pains were probably my nerve endings.  Hope this helps.  Good luck.
