I wanted to thank those of you who offered advice on how to help my mom and what I should be doing with such a big family history of breast cancer.

My Mom had a cyst removed from her left breast and the cancer removed from her right breast on Tuesday. Her MD took part of her lymph nodes to test and they were negative. She did not need drainage tubes. She will start radiation in about 3 weeks, but she doesn't need chemo as of now.

My aunt (her sister who also has had breast cancer) was very helpful. She stayed with me at the hospital and talked with me about her experience. My cousin (the daughter of my other aunt) is currently going thru radiation to see if her breast cancer will shrink a little prior to surgery.
