Found out in June that I had a BRCA mutation in June. Was referred to the breast cancer survivorship with specialist that work strictly with breast cancer patients and BRCA posirive patients. Had mammogram, MRI, and manual breast exam. Suspicious lump found in my left breast. Had sonogram and the radiologist felt it was abnormal and decided to do a needle violation. All this was done yesterday. That was a lot of emotional feelings to deal with in one day. I should find out results within the next 2 days. Just a little nervous and needed to vent. I am 29y/o and this doesn't seem real.

It does feel like a needle violation though! That is an interesting auto correct. Good luck with the biopsy, I hope you get an all clear!!!!
My best piece of advice is to take your time and really research your options. I live in NY my first surgery was done near Syracuse. After my flap failure...I made a choice to travel 5 hours to NYC. I interviewed three surgeons before making my final decision. You are in a good place in terms of time. You don't have cancer, so you can make this a much more thoughtful process. If you are near NYC or Greenwich CT, I can recommend someone.
The only thing I would have done differently knowing what I know now...is that I would have had the Mastectomies gotten the cancer out of the picture, and then started researching who I was going to entrust with this most important job! Good luck...I admire your courage at such a young age!!!!

My results came back benign! I don't think it has completely set in yet. For the last few days I have preparing for the worse case scenario. I still plan on having a prophylactic mastectomy so I don't have another scare like this or worse have of actually be cancerous down the line. Good luck to you! Would like to hear how your testing turns out.

Kate, you must be dying with all the waiting! if I can do anything for you let me know! even a shoulder to cry on! I was 39 when under went my first biopsy. Luckily it was benign but I do understand! I will go send you a friend invite!
Quoting signingmama2915:
Oh, good! I won't get to even be seen again until November then that doctor has to order the tests. So probably won't be until almost December for me.
