what are the symptoms for breast cancer?

I recently found a bump on my left breast. I go in Friday for a mammogram. It runs in my family so I'm pretty scared. Also where the lump is, it is getting kind of painful. Just wondering if the lump was painful for anyone.

I had found a lump in my right breast four years ago, from what I had read at the time it wasn't suppose to be painful and mine was. My sixth sense had told me from the beginning that it was cancer, I had had lumps before in the same breast, and I was right it was cancer.  Good luck, hopefully for you it won't be cancer.

My tumors were pressing on nerves & causing pain. Your pain does not necessarily mean you have cancer but glad you are getting checked out. Good luck & God bless. Marilyn
