My name is Debbie and I'm new to this group, but not new to special needs. My daughter Sierra is 16 1/2 years old and has been a special kid since before she was born. She had a cleft soft palate, which got taken care of pretty easily, but when she was 6 months old she had a major seizure which put her in the hospital for about a week. She had just about every kind of test there was. Finally when she was about 8, a genetic study showed her as having a "partial deletion or addition of the first chromosome". No name for it and testing couldn't really even tell what that chromosome was doing. So we have no real diagnosis and no prognosis and no treatment plan. We just love her and take care of whatever challenge comes up. As you all know, even if you don't know her, there have been lots of challenges.

It's nice to be here!
