Not sure if any one has a child with diagnosed Hydrocephelus or if this is the right group to be in. I have a 5 yr old boy we adopted he had this from birth! Birth mom did nothing for him. We have had MRI's done and everything seems to point to just watching him for any changes that may occur. He have developmental delays as a result of this. My main concern though are his hands they seem to mirror each other. One will pick up an object and the other will do the same thing. He also is having trouble with sleeping we got him at the age of 15 months old and all he would do is bang his head off the floors, walls, anything. He finally stopped doing it a few yrs ago. With that being said he has never been able to fall asleep on his own our PCP said to give him melatonin. He is now getting two pills per night at totalling 10mg. He will only sleep about four hrs on them and then he is up and sneaking around the house getting into everything. I just found this out and am getting very frustrated I know some of these things he can not help doing but where do I turn and what the heck to I do. Needless to say exhausted we have three other children and no problems with them.. But J is such a handful. If anyone out here has similar issues or knows where in the heck I can turn to for some conversation and advise please let me know! Thanks so much for even reading! I sure could use some advise.
