well, it is that time.  my daughter will be going to school soon.  what kinds of things do you pack for lunch for your kids?  i am a health freak, so i need some good healthy snacks to get.  other than fruits and veggies, what do you send you kids off to school with?

Here's a great link whether you're vegan or not.

My daughter isn't old enough for school but i make my husbands lunches for work everyday. lol

Anyway Kashi makes great cookies with flax seeds in them. Those are great for sneaking nutrients in your little one.

Also, if she doesn't like fruit try mixing it with things..

for example

mix oranges with honey and cinnamon

mix apples with sweet potatoes, green onion, and mayo

make it fun! Form the food into shapes of pizza or place veggie or fruits on skewer sticks.(when she gets old enough)

I have three kids I make lunch for and my husband. I send fresh fruit, fresh cut up veggies. I buy sprouted whole wheat breads and organic peanut butter or almond butter and fruit preserves. They also love taking yogurts and whole food bars. I will treat them on fridays with something sweet, like organic fig nutans or cookies. they also enjoy different cold salads that I make. maythey be fruit or veggie or a combo. Avacado is big thing and they love the blue corn chips with mild spice on them from Garden of Good Eden.  I will send sharp raw cheddar slices with apple wedges or dried fruits. As for drinks, I buy the 100% organic juice box's and one of my school aged kids loves the soy milk that is packaged in small boxes.
