I am always on the lookout for new slow cooker recipies.  What is your fav?

my dh loves it when i make my homemade chicken noodle soup.

I love cooking in a slow cooker bc having a 4 year old, 21 month old, and a 1 week old, i don't always have the time to be able to cook a real meal on the stove/oven.  With only one car and dh working, but i keep the car during the day, i dont always have time to cook too.

sorry forgot the recipie.

What I usually do is:

Cut up 1 inch squares of bonless skinless chicken breasts
boil for about 15 mins.
i drian out the starch stuff thats ontop and dump the remaining water into the slow cooker.
while chicken is boiling i take about 3 cups of water and add about 5-7 chicken boullion cubes and disolve the cubes.
i also add an entire container of chicken broth {hubby likes the chicken flavor}
i add the chicken and water from cooking the chicken
i also add about 2 tbs spoons of tyme
cook on low for 7 hours or so.
in the last hour i add in the noodles to cook.

homemade beef stroganoff

2 lb stew meat ( I just put it in frozen, but doesn't matter either way)

1 can Campbell's golden mushroom soup

1 can any brand beef gravy

1 can cream of mushroom soup

cook on low all day the meat will fall apart,  when it's ready, boil up your egg noodles , while the noodles are boiling add a 16 oz container of sour cream and mix it in.

serve over the egg noodles

MY FAMILY IS VERY PICKY AND LOVES THIS RECIPE!!!

YOU CAN ALSO ADD SLICED MUSHROOMS IF YOU LIKE THEM WHEN YOU ADD THE SOUR CREAM

 French dip sandwiches.

Put a rump roast in the crock and add half a bottle of lager beer (or use extra beef broth if you don't want beer), 16 ounces beef broth, can of french onion soup, parsley, salt, pepper, minced garlic, onion powder.

Cook 8 hours on low.  Slice the meat thinly, and put on french rolls.  Use the broth for dipping.

This sounds great, but every time I put a roast in the crock pot, it falls apart, there is no chance at slicing it... how do you do it??

I use an electric knife.  Some of it still falls apart, but not as much as with a regular knife.

Vegetable Stew with Cornmeal Dumplings
3 cups peeled butternut or acorn squash cut into 1/2-inch cubes
2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
2 14-1/2-ounce cans diced tomatoes, undrained
1 15-ounce can Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained or 1.5 cups homecookes; any bean will do
1 cup water or vegetable broth
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning, crushed
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (I use whole wheat pastry flour)
1/3 cup cornmeal
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast (lots of B vitamins and a nice cheesey flavor)
1 tablespoon snipped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg or egg replacer
2 tablespoons milk (plant or animal)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 9-ounce package frozen Italian green beans or frozen cut green beans (I hate green beans, so I use frozen chopped spinach)
Paprika
In a 3-1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker, combine squash, mushrooms, undrained tomatoes, Great Northern beans, the water, garlic, Italian seasoning, and pepper. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 8 to 10 hours or on high-heat setting for 4 to 5 hours.
For dumplings: In a medium bowl, stir together flour, cornmeal, Parmesan cheese, parsley, bakiing powder, and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together egg, milk, and oil. Add to the flour mixture; stir with a fork just until combined. If using low-heat setting, turn to high-heat setting. Stir frozen green beans into stew. Drop the dumpling dough into six mounds on top of the stew. Sprinkle with paprika. Cover and cook for 50 minutes more. (Do not lift lid while dumplings are cooking.)

My favorite is Pulled BBQ Pork Sandwiches.  Super easy.

Slice medium onion and lay it in the bottom of the crock pot.  Place pork roast on top (size depends on how many you are cooking for).  In a separate bowl, mix an 18 oz (or larger if you have a big roast) bottle of your fave bbq sauce with 1/4 cup brown sugar.  Pour over roast.  Cook on low for 8 hours.  When it's done cooking, remove roast, shred with 2 forks, then return to sauce.  Serve on your choice of buns.

There are variations to this recipe, also.  First of all, if you run out of buns, it's really yummy wrapped up in a tortilla.  Second, there's other stuff you can add to the crock pot when you cook it.  I wrote it as I do it.  There's a ton of stuff that I leave out of the original recipe cause I don't like them.  The original recipe called for green peppers, sliced and added with the onion.  It also called for seasoning the meat with salt, pepper, and cumin.  Honestly, it's super flavorful as is, but feel free to add what you like.  Oh, you can also do it with a beef roast for yummy shredded bbq beef sandwiches.
