I was planning on making this recipe, but I had an emergency trip to the dentist and didn't have the three hours.  I ended up putting all the ingredients in my pressure cooker.  My pressure cooker pea soup recipe said do it ifor ten minutes and if it's not done then redo it.  I put it on for fifteen minutes to be sure but burned it.  I was happy that it didn't seem to ruin the whole thing.  In fact, it was the best pea soup I've had in a long time.

It is important to be careful when cooking split peas in a pressure cooker and follow times and instructions for your particular pressure cooker.
