So my basil doesnt seem to be doing very well. I took a couple little sprouts out of the pot they were in and planted them in the ground next to my tomatoes. I assumed they would die because the roots were just so thin and they were not in little seed pots i could transplant. And guess what? They are doing fabulous. they are in the same soil as the potted ones. They are getting the same light. Why would they do that much better???

Because you planted them with their besties! Lol Not only do they taste great together but they also grow well together. Google companion planting and you'll get a better understanding as to why. :)

What find of light it is? Maybe the others were getting more direct?

Outdoor sunlight. The potted plant is sitting right next to where i transplanted some of them.

Maybe they didn't like in the pot with the others and wanted to be with the tomatoes.

Yes, i knew they grew well together. I was trying to get them started first before i moved them but they were SOOOOOO slow to grow.
