I'm not sure why I bother cooking

For my kids. DD used to eat anything and everything. Now she just picks at it. DS has always been somewhat picky. Things he used to eat he refuses now.

This morning I made a beautiful breakfast: tomato and goat cheese omelettes with fresh eggs (just laid yesterday :) ), bacon, grapes, yogurt, and a mini blueberry muffin.

DS ate the yogurt and the muffin. DD ate the bacon and the muffin.

I give up. I thought it was delicious but they do this all the time. It drives me nuts!

It's frustrating. But you're doing the right thing by providing a variety of good food for them. As an older friend once told me. I's your job to provide healthy food for them; it's their job to decide what and how much of it they eat. I found with my picky eater, that if I didn't make any comment on what he was eating, or how good everything was-which was very hard for me to do-he would eat more.

I hear ya.  And I just had this discussion with dd last night.  Seems she really just likes to complain, no matter what I put in front of her she says she doesn't like it...although most of the time she ends up eating it.  Just annoying to hear her complain about every meal.

I'm jealous that you have fresh eggs by the way.  We had chickens a couple years ago and it was so much fun "hunting" for their eggs every day.  They were free range so they laid them everywhere.  We even found them in our recycle bin on occasion.  lol.  Anyway, the coyotes got two of them so I gave the third away.  I do miss my fresh eggs!

I babysat last night and a bonus payment was almost a dozen fresh eggs. <3 I dont have chickens but I know several people who do.

my dh doesn't like "fancy" foods..just boring everyday stuff... he's the picky eater.  What pisses me off is he'll make a comment and it effects dd.  She may have eaten a bunch but once dh spouts then she's done too...grrr.  He's getting better at it tho as I told him it hurts my feelings and I like to cook new stuff.

They're called kids -lol.  Every kid does this, trust me.  One day they love something then the next day they hate.  Does matter that it's been their favorite food for the last couple of years.  Once they make up their mind they no longer want it... that's it.

Oh I know it's normal but it doesn't endear me to them. Lol
