First lasagna.... Then my improved second

I made lasagna for the first time the other. Boy did it take me forever! My biggest complaint was boiling the noodles. Then i made a new and improved lasagna. This time i soaked the noodles in hot tap water for twenty minutes. Much easier! I also added water to the meat sauce and spices it up better. And i added freshly diced tomatoes to the top. Much much better!

Sounds interesting! I've never heard of adding water to meat sauce.

On a side note I never make ours. That's one of the few dishes that hubby makes.

I buy the oven ready lasagna sheets. I've never added water either.

I never pre-cook my noodles anymore and I haven't added water.

I love to sauté garlic and onion with kale or spinach and I add that as a layer. :)

That's a good idea...never thought of soaking the noodles in the hot water.  When I make mine in the crock pot, I don't pre-cook the noodles either.

I'll have to try the soaking the noodle trick, I hate burning my hands on the noodles, lol.

I don't do anything to the noodles just cook in the lasagna from hard. Always comes out perfect!!. Made lasagna tonight used a can of spaghetti sauce plus a can of petite diced tomatoes and spiced it up with beef bouillon, garlic and onion powders and some pepper. In my meat (before adding the sauces) I cook chopped garlic, onion, celery and carrot to give it a better fiber bulk!! made a 9X13 pan an only 2 pars left for lunch tomorrow - YUM!!

Oh good luck and keep up the hard works!! Eventally you will find the perfect way your family loves it!!
