So do you think more people will be eating Vegetarian meals?
I caught bits and pieces of a story on the radio yesterday about the cost of meat rising. I'm not sure of how they explained it exactly, but it was something like the amount of cows is at its lowest since 1952. Some cuts of meat are going for $1 more a pound than just recently.
Anyway, does this affect you meat eaters? Are you thinking about trying to do more meat-free meals during the week? Would you replace it with pasta and sauce or something else?
Nope....we eat a LOT of meat and a lot of it my DH kills himself. I only really buy chicken and steaks.
I have already been trying to use less meat and I rarely use beef. I use ground turkey because I can get it for 1/2 the price of ground beef. I use chicken breasts for most of our meat. If we have hot dogs they are usualy turkey or chicken.
I make a lot of things with beans now and we eat a lot of eggs too because we have a friend who has lots of chickens and we buy them off her cheap or sometimes she even gives them to us.

We are trying to use less meat too. Okay, so I'm trying to use less meat. I don't know if hubby and the kids have noticed or not. I'm thinking about moving most meat meals to the weekend. That way the kids are getting more veggies during the school week and if we are only having meat half the time, I can afford to make it cuts that hubby likes :)
that sounds like a good plan. I don't have a hubby anymore though so it doesn't matter for me lol

LOL...mealtimes are cheaper without hubbies. I know whenever mine was deployed, we ate a lot cheaper.
