Can you recommend an alternative to oatmeal?
My son (1 yr) is having tummy troubles with loose, watery stool. I switched to a lactose free milk, but still didn't work. So now i am going to try switching his oatmeal (he sleeps through the night if he has some before bedtime). So I was wondering if anyone could recommend other oatmeal type foods that I can give my son. Then I can find out if it is the oatmeal or not. Thanks.
My mother used to make me cream of wheat when I was little....I really liked the taste of it growing up.

Cream of rice or wheat.Of those rice is easiest to digest and helps bulk up the stool. You can add whatever flavorings you want to it. My dd had problems so we used cream of rice.
I didn't even know there was a cream of rice. Thank you. I will look for it when I go shopping today.
What about just a bowl of chereos. If he is one, he should be able to eat those fine. Have you tried putting soy or almond milk on it? I am lactose intollerant myself so lactose free works for me but if you are allergic to dairy, that wont do any good.
You could try cream of wheat or maybe just a little cooked rice.
