I had two mason jars and one was done and the other needed another minute of shaking. I accidentally picked up the finished jar and started shaking it. I realized something was weird when the cream all slid down the side of the jar with a "thunk."
I opened it up and voila! I had butter. Lol I strained the extra cream off using some cheesecloth (that stuff is such a pain to cut!) and the butter is in my fridge.
Whoops, sort of!

Oh you must try it, you wll never love the can or tub kind again! It really is good just use a large cold bowl that has been in your fridge or freezer and then just use a hand mixer to whip up the heavy cream add vanilla and sugar to taste.
Quoting Kimberly954:I have made butter but never real whipped cream!

The first time dh and I made butter I thought it was just the neatest thing ever! :)
I put mine in the food processor and just let it spin for 5 minutes! Drain off the liquid, add salt and spin again for another minute. Done.

I thought it was super cool!! And really easy, just takes a lot of shaking.
