Question about yeast dough?

I am making rolls and the recipe called to let the dough rise "2 hours, until doubled in size." Well the dough has been rising for 40 minutes and has already just about doubled in size. Should I go ahead with the next step?

I would let it rise for the 2 hours. If it gets too big, just punch it down a little.

I never follow an exact time for my dough to rise. Typically it's OR until the dough has doubled in size.  They give the time as a guide. Depending how how hot or cold your house is it  may take less or more time for the dough to double.  I would use it now if you're ready to go to the next step.

That is a good question, I don't know so I can't be the tie breaker, lol. Here is a bump for you though!

The timing on dough rising is about as stretchy as dough. Go ahead with the next step.
