I don't really know why it's called 3 in 1 cuz it actually does more than three things but....it's supposed to slow cook, steam, bake, sear, saute and roast.

I had a roaster/crockpot, and I didn't really care for it. It didn't really seem to work well as either. I've never used that one before though so maybe it's better.
