Slow Cooked Pesto Ranch Chicken - SO easy and yummy!

 I make this almost weekly, it's a big hit at my house!!

I use chicken thighs, because not only are they the most affordable they're also the preference of my kiddos.  

The chicken falls off the bones, and it's only 4 ingriedients dumped into a crock pot and left to cook until dinner time!

Chicken (I use 8-10 chicken thighs)

1 Jar of Pesto - I like to mix up the pesto I get, sometimes I get plan pesto - other times I buy the jars of pesto that also have other ingreidients.. Today I used a artichoke and spinach pesto.

1 Can of chicken broth

Ranch seasoning packet(s) - 1 or 2 depending on your taste.

I dump 1 can of chicken broth in the bottom of my crock pot, and then I salt and pepper my chicken and place them into the crock pot.  Then take a spoon and spoon the petso onto the chicken and rub it in to cover the chicken.  Then just dump the ranch packet(s) on top and cook on low for 6-7 hours!!

You can also cook on high for 3-4 hours ;)

This is pre-cooked.

So yummy!! This is how I serve it to the kiddos -

 That looks so good. Thanks for sharing. I see you're a new member...Welcome to the group.

My family prefers thighs over breasts, and there's only a tiny bit difference in fat content, plus thighs have a higher percentage of micronutrients like niacin, phosphorus, vitamin B-6,  zinc,  riboflavin,  iron and magnesium, thiamine, vitamin B-12, and folate.

 Pesto makes my mouth feel numb, I found out recently. I think I am mildly allergic to something in it.

Just found this recipe on Pinterest and I cannot WAIT to make it!!! I am going to use breasts though instead of thighs. They are too fatty for us...it sounds ssssoooo delicious though. I love pesto!

looks good, but can I use my own homemade pesto recipe instead of jar pesto? <it is too salty>
