CampFire Pies

Pizza Campfire Pies ~ Butter the back of the bread and lay it in the pie irons (butter side down). Spread a little pizza sauce on top of each slice of bread. Add a little shredded cheese and your favorite pizza toppings, like pepperoni, mushrooms or onion. Be careful you don’t add too much topping, you’ll need the pie iron to close so you can cook your pizza.

Stick them in the coals, and you’ll have pizza pies!

Campfire Fruit Pies ~ Butter the back of 2 pieces of bread and lay it in the pie irons, butter side down. Top one side with your favorite fruit pie filling.

S’mores Campfire Pies ~ This is a fun twist on one of my campfire favorites. Butter the back of your bread, and add a little marshmallow cream (or one large marshmallow or a handful of mini marshmallows) and some chocolate chips, or small pieces of milk chocolate candy bars to the top of the bread.

The finished product, yum!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Campfire Pies ~ The same as above, but spread the top of the bread with your favorite peanut butter and jelly (or Nutella). Yum!

Once you have your pies filled with your favorite filling, close the pie iron and stick it deep in the coals of your fire. Let it sit there for a few minutes, then pull it out and check.

When one side of the pie is golden brown, flip the pie iron over and cook the other side.

Then tell a few ghost stories while you’re munching on your pies.
