Pigs in a blanket, fruit dip, meat and cheese tray, veggie tray.... Really we just do finger foods. What time is your shower?

I agree with finger foods, keep it easy. Deli tray so people can make their own little sandwiches, fruit, veggies and dip, pickle/olive tray, strawberry cake with pink frosting. Congrats!

Afternoon. What time? Usually, the time of the party dictates the type of food you serve. If it's later in the afternoon, usually filling foods - sandwiches, casseroles etc. Early afternoon is more finger foods. Evening time would be more desserts and snacks.

Example: 1:00-2:00 cucumber sandwiches, cheese twists, pigs in a blanket and cake.

4:00-6:00 Mongolian bbq type deal, meatballs, sub sandwiches and of course cake.

For my oldest son's baby shower we had breakfast foods because it was held around ten in the morning. We had doughnuts, sausages, muffins, fruit salad, fruit punch and a cake
