Fresh vs frozen

Ok so I know that anything fresh is way better then anything frozen.
That being said I usually buy fresh pork breakfast sausage which my children will eat. But how come when I pull out that frozen brand that rant and rave over it?

Which do you buy?

For sausage, I always buy fresh.

I prefer fresh to frozen for most everything. But, I do keep some frozen foods on hand for when I don't have fresh.

I make homemade sausage patties. The premade ones have way too much salt for my tastes....the frozen ones have even more..

I'm not interested in fresh vrs frozen - I'm concerned with quality (and taste for that matter).

If the "fresh" is rotting on the counter, I'll definitely buy frozen. If your kids prefer the seasoning in the frozen sausage why waste money buying the bulk stuff?

There's a misconception that fresh is always better. Not necessarily true. I use mostly fresh, but we have three growing seasons here, so only in summer when it's too hot for blossoms to set, do I look for frozen. If fresh products are shipped across the country, then they are not necessarily better than produce that is frozen quickly after being picked or meat after being butchered. A lot depends on where you live and what is available locally.
