Make a boxed cake taste like it came from a bakery.

Did anyone ever try this trick on how to make boxed cake taste like it came from a bakery?

Step 1: Look at the directions on the cake mix
Step 2: Add one m
ore egg (or add 2 if you want it to be very rich
Step 3: Use melted butter instead of oil and double the amount
Step 4: Instead of water, use milk.
Step 5: Mix well and bake for the time recommended on the box.
 
 
It's very good.

The yellow cake mix I buy calls for butter anyway don't know about the rest.

How many calories did you throw in there, Luci?  LOL  Seriously, what great suggestions.  Reminds me of when I have to do instant mashed potatoes.  Forget the water, use milk.  And throw a lot of butter in.  Plus whatever secret spices you like, which would be garlic powder for me.

 Absolutely...but try hevy cream sometime in mashed potatoes...lots of calories, but man is it heavenly!

I use ranch dressing in my potatoes <3.

I put a package of pudding and applesauce instead of oil if I use a box mix.
