I don't buy bagged salad. I usually store my salad greens in a bowl with a lid. Yep, wash/rinse. If it's a loose head, you can shake the water off by wrapping it in a broad cloth dish towel.

I wash everything. There have been to many recalls on packaged greens to trust them on their own.

I usually buy a head of lettuce, not the bagged kind.  With a head of lettuce, I store it wrapped in paper towel in a plastic bag until needed.  I wash the leaves just before using them.

Yes because I don't trust what they washed them in.  Could have been nasty reused water for all I know.

I try not to buy the bagged lettuces because there have been so many recalls on them, but I wash it all under running water.

Yes, and I'm so neurotic, (I taught infection control for years), I've divided my two basin sink and counter into a 'clean' side and 'dirty' side. The smaller basin and rt side of my counter is for vegetables, baby bottles/sippy cups, draining the colander, handwashed items. The large deeper side is used for washing our hands, rinsing things off, dishes and things to load into adjacent dishwasher. And once a week, the sink gets a bleach soak, wipe down and air dry.
