Are you a bread squeezer?

When I go to the grocery store or bakery to buy bread I like to squeeze it first to make sure it is squishy.  I saw another lady doing this today too and even handing off a loaf to her husband to squeeze saying, "wow, feel how soft this one is!"

Does anyone else squeeze the bread before selecting a loaf?

Yep. Plus I look at the date. If it doesn't feel soft, I pull out one from the back to see if it's better.

I don't but I rarely buy store bought bread unless it's buns.

I never think to look at the dates on bread.  Good idea.

nope, I look at the end and see if there is any moisture in the bag. If the bread kinda looks stuck to the bag then I buy it because I know it is moist.

I gently press down on the top to see if it bounces back and is soft.

No, I'd rather rely on the date, and hope the squishers buy the loaf they've squished.
