Merry Christmas Cookies

2 cups white sugar
1 lb butter
4 large eggs well beaten
5 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Cream sugar and butter then add eggs. Mix well and add remaining ingredients.

Roll dough ¼ inch thick and cut into festive shapes.

Ice when cooled if desired.

Bake at 375 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet for 6 to 8 minutes.

 Yes. This would make about 5-8 dozen cookies, depending on the size of the cutters and how thin you roll out the dough. You could easily cut this recipe in half for a smaller amount, or freeze half for use later.

Sounds yummy! I've been baking sugar cookies for about two hours, I swear I've made at least 8 dozen! Then I'm making salt dough gingerbread men for the boys to give as Christmas gifts!
