Could I use a pie crust instead??

I wanted to make like a calzone type meal and wanted to use things that I already have on hand, which I have a ready-made pie dough, so could I use that for something that is savory like a philly cheese steak or fajita filling??

I don't see why not.  Meat pasties use a pie dough-type crust.  I would imagine the pie crust would be a little sweeter, but I wouldn't see that as a problem!

Don't see why you couldn't. Pie crusts are just flour, water, and butter or shortening.

You can but it would just be a different type of consistency. Pie crust has no leavening, while pizza dough does, so you'll have more like a meat pasty that may be a little more dense than if you used pizza dough.

It will be more flaky but I'm sure it will do in a pinch.
