Fort Hood Memorial

Yesterday I saw the Ft Hood memorial was on tv.  I have nothing but sympathy for the people that lost their lives and the families that were left behind.  Having said that, what makes those folks any more special than the service people losing their lives every day in Iraq and Afghanistan?  Those that are killed overseas are lucky to get a 30 second mention on the news, much less the president speaking at their funerals.  This kind of ticked me off.  I don't have anybody in the service but I feel if you're going to do it for one serviceperson, do it for all of them.   Ok, I'm getting off my soapbox now.

I know, it's not fair.  What I see is that this happened on US soil, as well as being an unexpected, and isolated incident.  Still, as you mentioned, not fair that (so many) people who are losing their lives (daily) are being overlooked while something like this gets so much focus... very sad.
