We pick up gifts year-round so we don't have a last minute rush or need a huge chunk of money at one time.

Jealous! I would someday like to be one of those moms that buys a crapload of toys the week AFTER x-mas, when everything is uber cheap.
BUT, the kids' wants/ needs change through the year, and birthdays are in between, and they might get things I already picked up, KWIM? Plus, I'm too broke right after x-mas too lol.
I went to the store yesterday hoping to get my 3 some clearanced halloween dress up dresses, to wrap for x-mas, but there were none left in her size. (sad face)
