We've decided that Myles(14 months) will be getting 3 gifts from mommy and daddy and 1 gift from santa. The three gifts came from an idea that another mommy had. She said that on the day of his birth Jesus recieved three gifts from three wise men. So I loved that idea, and took it as my own. But then I said, okay one gift from me, one from his dad, and one from the two of us. But then I forgot Santa. Lol. So I decieded that Santa would give one gift also. How about you?

There is no specific number, but we only have one child, and we have bought her about $100 worth of stuff. I want to get her a Tinkerbell table, and then I will be done. We bought her 7 gifts, plus stocking stuffers this year.

It depends on what I find on sale. She will be getting 2 larger gifts from us and my mom got her a baby doll from us. Then I will pick up a few small things here and there.
I am a emergency c-section, extended formula feeding, cloth/disposable diapering, extended rear facing, sign language teaching, miscarriage survivor (x2), mama to a miracle baby girl who has 2 middle names!

Usually we set a budget for our 2 kids. Previous years we have spent $150 - $200 each kid... not sure what will happen this year. We try to spend the same on each child.
I forgot the stocking stuffers!!! I've bought Jade quite a few toys. A dora doll, a play food set, and dishes set, a baby alive doll, and I"m gonna get her some books and puzzles and that'll be a wrap.

WE DO THE SAME THING IN OUR FAMILY 3 GIFTS JUST AS JESUS GOT WHEN HE WAS BORN AND BY STARTING WITH YOUNG CHILDREN THEY WILL NEVER EXPECT MORE AND WILL BE EXCITED FOR THOSE 3 GIFTS AND ISNT THAT REALLY THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS NOT HOW MUCH IS UNDER THE TREE BUT WHY WE CELEBRATE ITS A GREAT THINGTO START.....
Lol. well you better get on those stocking stuffers, girl. I'll probably wind up buying Shayna a couple more cheap things. I saw some 3.00 puzzles at Walmart, and a 10.00 play food set that I want to get her. She got a basket of play food last year, but over half of it is lost somewhere.

Well my son is 2.5 and he doesn't make a list yet! So when he does I will buy what he puts on the list for we don't celebrate Jesus we are Jewish. We do however have Santa because I converted and wouldn't give that up when we got married! It is the fun part of Christmas!
So I don't ever go by how many presents I just get what I want to get him for now till he makes a list!
We don't really have a number that we stick to, but I do like your idea of 3 gifts. We usually do one "big" one from Santa, and a biggish one from us, and then small stuff -- I like for them to have a bunch of stuff to open, even if it's just a bunch of little things. Depending on how much we have put aside for the holiday, we set a budget for each child (we have four!!).
