White or colored?

What kind of lights do you like best on your holiday tree?  I grew up in a household who decorated with colored light and no theme to their tree.  I guess I am just snooty.  My tree is pink, blue and silver with white lights.  I like the trees with colored lights but during the day they look messy.  JMO.

My husband likes white. So, I bought lights that go from color to white so we won't argue

About 7-8 years ago we bought all red architectural lights from Restoration Hardware.  They are shaped like miniature vanity bulbs and they look fabulous.  I wish I could find more.

It's hard to pick just any one flavor... it's what I'm in the mood for and what is being decorated.  Some homes, for example, look better with colors... some look better with a white wash of lights.  Just depends.

we have white lights and if I remember correctly white and silver bulbs to put on it. We have a few colorful ornaments for the kids. And hopefully someday we'll have a house big enough the kids get their own Christmas tree! (we have 2...just not enough room for 2!)

White lights all the way and they can't be motion or blinking lights.  If the all lights don't blink together or move at the same speed in the same way it drives me nuts.  The reason i don't like colored lights is because they seem to fade and white lights give off a soft glow that I love.
