There have been years that I've put up the tree on, or the day after Thanksgiving. I found though, in so doing, I actually get tired of looking at the tree! So these past few years we have taken to putting up the tree just a few days before Christmas.

When do you put your tree up?

  • My tree is already up but I have my own personal reasons for doing so this year.  Usually it goes up the week of Thanksgiving.

  • The day after Thanksgiving or maybe the weekend at the latest.

  • When we had a fake tree, it was the weekend after Thanksgiving. But I finally convinced DH that we should get real trees every year, and since then, its been a week or two into December.

I agree, if I decorate or do too much too soon, I get burnt out.  We are having such beautiful fall weather right now, it just doesnt feel like Christmas yet. (We rarely get nice fall weather in Michigan upper peninsula. We notmally have snow by this time.)

Why does my Pre-Schooler ride Rear-Facing? Because she is not a minimum. She deserves more than that. If we get into an accident, I want to know that I have done everything in my power to protect her.  Rear-Facing is endorsed by every car seat authority in the US. It is PROVEN to be safer. Why would I choose to take an unneccessary risk with the most precious gift that I have been given? PM me for more info!

  • We put up our tree about a week before Christmas. We always get a real tree and I don't have to clean up the needles as long as if we put it up earlier. Plus I would get tired of looking at it for a whole month, that's just too long. We also keep it up until New Year's Day.

  •  We do not do anything Christmas oriented until after Thanksgiving because we like to acknoledge all holidays before hand even though Christmas is our favorite.   We do not put the tree up until the second week of December.
