I like doing this because its WAY cheaper than buying. I would like to think of unique things to put in them, ive done bath stuff, candy and wine ( not for the kids ) lol. Can you think of anything unique but not expensive to put in a gift basket?

For a baby shower, I go to the Dollar Tree and pick out a bunch of things that a new mom can use. Baby Powder, Wipes, etc.

For a new home, I fill it with things like measuring cups, a cookbook, utensils, hand towels and rags.

My sons love getting buckets instead of baskets. They like them filled with puzzles, glow sticks, stickers, coloring books, etc. That makes a great birthday present.

You could even do one with tea and little finger food snacks. I am going to make spiced tea this year and put it in mason jars and decorate them and give them to all the women in my family. I needed a cheap way to do this and everyone I know loves the instant spiced tea!
