Ladies dont forget to say why you are choosing one over the other. I chose real because I lve the fresh smell of a christmas tree throughout the house, it puts me more into the spirit!

We're using a real tree - as usual - but I have to admit that with our current financial situation I wouldn't mind being able to pull an artificial tree out of storage to use instead of paying out $45-$50 for a Christmas tree.

Edit: OP, I agree with you about the smell of a Christmas tree.  That is one of the reasons we always go the route of putting the extra money into a good Christmas tree.  I love the way the house smells the morning after we set it up!

We use to go out and pick out and chop down a real tree, but with the way we both work, it's usually me that ends up taking it down and cleaning up all the needles, and I needed to simplify things, so the last few years we've had artificial.

I love real trees, but we use an artificial because our allergies are terrible.

We have an artificial tree. the last year we had a real tree was 1997, and I told dh that was the last time ever ever ever for a real tree.  When we went tree shopping that year,  he spotted the tree at the tree place, as we were driving down the road. And that's because it was HUGE... It ended up being too big for the livingroom and had to be put in the diningroom !!

And omg, there was such a mess to clean up from that tree, we even wrapped it in sheets with safety pins to take it outside, but I was cleaning up needles for months after that. They just kept magically appearing out of the carpet, like the plague of the Christmas tree needles. It could have been a horror movie.

I went to Sears the following year. :)

we always have a real tree hubby will never do a fake one.  he says since we live in oregon where most of the trees come from we have to have a real one.  we only pay 20.00 for our tree.

I used to have an artificial tree, but DH is clutter-phobe and we live in an apt. He doesnt like the amount of space they take up the other 11 months of the year.

So 2 years ago he made me a deal. I got rid of the fake tree and he has to get me a real tree every year... lol.  I dont really like the mess, but I love the smell and the look.

Why does my Pre-Schooler ride Rear-Facing? Because she is not a minimum. She deserves more than that. If we get into an accident, I want to know that I have done everything in my power to protect her.  Rear-Facing is endorsed by every car seat authority in the US. It is PROVEN to be safer. Why would I choose to take an unneccessary risk with the most precious gift that I have been given? PM me for more info!

i choose Real for the same reasons as you. I love walking into the house after being gone for a while and having that Christmas smell all throughout the house!

We will be using a real christmas tree as usual.....The weekend after thanksgiving,  we go out to the Christmas tree farm, and let the children pick out the tree that they want and then they get to take turns helping cut down the tree.... then we go home make hot chocolate, listen to the christmas music and decorate the tree..... It just something about going to the tree farm that really gets us into the holiday spirit.

My mom uses a fake tree and loves it,  there is no maintenace and her's aready has christmas lights built in, all she has to do is throw a couple of ornimants on the tree and she is done.
