I was just curious if anyone still did this. I remember when i was little my brothers and I had so much fun throwing tinsel on the tree.

By tinsel, I am assuming you mean icicles .   No,  I do not use them ever since I found out how deadly they are to pets if they happen to eat them.

Many good tips for your pet's safety....

Here is the part about tinsel / icicles / garland .....

Tinsel and Foil Garlands: Avoid tinsel like the plague! Tinsel and icicles lure cats with glittery shine and movement. Tinsel and other garland materials are sharp and can shred your cat's intestines and/or block the intestines. Many fatalities are caused from ingesting tinsel!

Skipping this until we no longer have a baby or toddler running around. I'm too scared they'll pick it apart and swallow it.

I think it looks kind of messy and I never have done it. But I have cats now so I definately would not do it. I do put ribbons instead

No I don't.It takes for ever to get out of the carpet and my home. It's messy. My children like to eat it.When we had a cat she liked to eat it and that's not safe for a pet to eat. Then again I don't like real tree's either. They make my allergies act up,but we get one almost every year and I buy more boxes of tissues then a teacher does in a year.lol!!!That smell kills me.I don't know what we are going ot do this year for our tree. We'll be living with my MIL this time and she goes all out on her tree.I wont let her put tinsel on it though.

Growing up we put it on the tree almost every year.Up until one of my mother's cat'a ate it and we had to rush her to the vet.
