Our home and everything in it burnt up last January and I dont know why it took me this long to realize I dont have a Christmas Tree anymore.Do you think I should even bother? All my children are grown and I have 3 housedogs that would be all over it.But on the other hand,I do have Grandchildren that will be here Christmas Eve.Money is tight or Id just do it,but knowing this makes me think it over more. What do you think?
I can't imagine "no tree" - what about a tabletop version - a small one so it's not such a hassle, less expensive, but still festive?

this is exactly what I was thinking! I am sorry to hear about your house fire!! Also, we have a very small one that was our first Christmas tree as a family -- that we got from Target for literally $20.

Did you lose your ornaments as well? I remember the year I was going home for Christmas. I was working away from home for 6 months. I was planning on making it home for Christmas but a snowstorm stopped that. My son's friend had gone out to get them a tree and thought it was wrong we did not have one earlier. I had put the tree in a coffee can with rocks to hold the tree up. We popped popcorn for garland, hung hot wheel cars on it, I made a cloth angel for the tree top. a friend loaned me a string of lights. I drew candy canes and drums on white paper which my son colored. I added real candy canes and we had Christmas far from home. It was one of the best trees we ever had. My youngest was a baby but my oldest was in 3rd grade and we had BQ deer ribs for dinner. My oldest son made the choice LOL
But I have bought a string of bubble lights because they were on my Mothers tree and have long sense quit working and were thrown away. I have bought old ornaments at yard sale and Good Will because they reminded me of the ornaments my Grandmother had that were left behind when there was not room on a move. No they are not the same but I still remember the ornaments and the Christmas Past. Christmas is in the heart. I would put up a tree. I remember the year my friend use a dried mesquite branch for a Christmas tree. Again we used a coffee can and plaster of paris to hold it up.

I would get a cheap one. I got mine last year at Family Dollar for less than $25
