Have you ever eaten out for a holiday meal?

The city I live in just posted a question on FB asking if anyone was eating out for Thanksgiving and if so to post where they were going.  I can't believe it but quite a few people are saying they're going out and listing which restaurant they are going to.

The only time we've ever eaten out was for Christmas in 2002 and that was because we had a huge snowstorm and there was a state of emergency and no one was supposed to travel.  We didn't "go out" but we did order in Chinese food!

Last Thanksgiving I decided I was tired of cooking all the holiday dinners.  So, DH said don't cook, we'll go out.  The only places we found open were the "high class" resturants that wanted like $40 per person for the buffet.  A little expensive for our budget.  As we drove around we did find a small family owned resturant that was open.  Decided I would cook on the holidays.  It just wasn't the same but I did enjoy the day off.

Believe it or not pizza is the number one seller on Thanksgiving (for CA that is). It's one of their best days for profit.Personally pizza or stake sounds good on Thanksgiving.lol!!I don't know what we are going to do this year.My husband's grandparents wont be in town.We aren't going over to my MIL's boyfriends this year (oh darn.sarcasm there). So it's just going to be us four this year.

No,it has always been a tradition i our family to have Thanksgiving and christmas dinner at my grandparents. But when i was a manager of a small family owned resturaunt we would open in the afternoon and serve free dinner for anyone who wouls be spending the holidays alone ar couldnt afford to make dinner them selves,we usually had quite a few people come.

when i was younger and still lived in hawai'i...i guess we had turkey issues (it was still frozen or something) so we went to a chinese resturant called loco moco. i think we had problems for christmas too so we had the same chinese food then. my mom gets a good laugh at having to go there.

When I lived with my Mom we always ordered Chinese food on Christmas Eve. We go out every year for Easter. But most of the time ...I'm traveling to NY to eat at my Grandma's on Christmas :)

Growing up there were a few times where we ate at Dennys for the holidays.  Last year the kids and I ran to Walmart to grab a sub sandwich for Thanksgiving since dh was deployed and the kids and I were sick.  We were supposed to go to our Pastors house but had to stay home so I had nothing prepared.  Good thing is that my kids are so young no one even realized what day it was or what we were doing ;)

I have a few times for Thanksgiving and we are again this year. My in-laws are coming to town and we have a medium sized apartment (3 bedrooms) however...when you think of feeding and entertaining 10 people total we'd rather ENJOY our Thanksgiving meal (never mind I would need to start cooking today for the meal! the kitchen is sooo small) However, we are having a traditional Thanksgiving meal!
