Now this is before "Super" anythings. It was a regular Kmart & then they had a deli counter near the registers. They had the best honey baked hams!!!.....memories.
LOL, I remember that! I remember they always had one of those hams with the glaze stuff and pineapple rings with the little cherries in the centers. Loooong time ago! But that was also the snack bar and my parents always took us to the snack bar to get a pretzel and coke on the way out. Before they took out the snack bar completely, ours actually turned into a Little Caesars Pizza. That has been gone for at least 10 years now... These days the only thing you can get is an Icee and you get your cup at the checkout counter and serve yourself using the Icee machine. Not the same at all...
Ahh, that reminds me of Hills! Anyone remember that store? Or was that just a PA thing? We also used to have department stores called Nichols (I think that was the spelling), pronounced like "nickels."
I don't remember an actualy deli counter, but I remember the snack bar. Since this is a Holiday group, I'll share my 4th grade memory of Christmas shopping at KMart. We were doing our last minute Christmas shopping. I hadn't been feeling well and convinced my parents I was hungry. So they bought me a pretzel and a Hawaiian punch at the snack bar. I then threw it all up in one of the dressing rooms all over the floor and my bomb-@$$ sky blue tassled boots.
Merry Christmas! Haha. Sorry...
My mom worked in the little restraunt in the back of our Kmart. I remember my dad taking us in there to have lunch with mom all the time. That was a long time ago LOL
OMG!!! Hills!!! I loved loved their nachos!!!! I'm from Pittsburgh. Hills was like a Kmart or Walmart...for those who don't know.

i remember ICEEs i begged and begged my mom for one everytime we went to the store....that was the best part of shopping...
i also remember the pharmacy store(cvs i think i cant remember) and their ice cream section. We would always go in and get a ice cream cone....oh how it was great to be a kid!!!

I loved the popcorn from Hills! I used to always get a small popcorn and a Mr. Pibb when we went there! LOL
Last week I went to an estate sale and there was a section where you could take as much as you could fit in the bag for $2 and the bags were these giant shopping bags from Hills. Those bags had to be at least 15 years old!
