Hello everyone,

I'm new to the group. My name is Jeanna. After reading some of the posts so far I have learned some great tips on saving. Like everyone here, I am a busy mom of two children ages 9 and 10.  Like so many this holiday season I am looking for ways to save and at the same time have a quality and meaningful season without obvious sacrifice. So far I only have a couple of things of value to share.

1. Since the cold and flu season is here, I wanted to pass on a tip. If you or your family members feel that your throat is sore, sip a little bit of Listerine Antiseptic (the brown original Listernine Brand) and swallow. As I mentioned please only sip it. The antiseptic kills the germs and bacteria in the throat. I have tried this for many years and I found that my throat clears up in less than a day.

2. While browsing publishamerica.net to find some good and inexpensive reading material I came across a book entitled The Stocking Stuffer by Violet Summers. I HIGHLY recommend the book to anyone as part of their wishlist/single holiday treat to themself. You will identify with the main character immediately. The book brought me and some of my friends good comfort during these busy times.

To keep this short, so far my family tradition is to buy ham, as one of my kids hates turkey (he will only attempt it at Thanksgiving). I also take my favorite frangrance and spray it in a room fan. I turn on the fan to blow throughout the room for a few minutes. If you try this you will quickly create a great frangrance in the room and this will lift your mood for the entire day. This is great if you have pets or other odors.

Happy Thanksgiving to all and I look forward to "meeting" some of you soon. Be safe!
