i've been out of work since june and i didn't even get my unemployment this month because my state benefits ended and my federal doesn't start until next week. my twins have ten diapers between them and my son is wearing his last pull-up. i cried when i called them and they told me i wouldn't get money until next week. this is just a rough year for everyone it seems.

Yep and my husband got fired yesterday. So Merry Christmas to my family
I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. Have you considered using cloth diapers? When I became a stay at home mom and we went down to one income i fully switch to cd'ing we save so much money not haveing to buy sposies all the time. I wish there was something i could do to help. I will keep our family in my thoughts and prayers

Well, thankfully my husband has a job and makes good money a year, but, his checks are inconsistent and we can never get ahead or save. So, when his checks are bad we get behind, and when his checks are better we are paying that extra money from when we were behind.....so currently, we are struggling from a stupid, stupid payday loan that is costing almost a car payment to pay back. So all of our bills are late, i consolidated unsecured debt, deferred our student loans. YIKES!

totally broke until the 1st....thankfully i already have EVERYTHING for Thanksgiving dinner....we can eat off that for the next few days....

Unfortunately yes. We were fine, until a check went through that we thought had already gone through a month before, this past weekend. That went though, and then there wasnt enough money for the ones that we had out, and so they were returned nsf, and then we were charged twice for both checks-nsf and overdraft, so $140 for a ten and 44 dollar check.... After dh's short check last time, and even shorter one this time, and the overdraft fees from the bank were sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place. After the fees, plus the money to cover the two checks when they put them through again, we have nothing left but half our house payment, gas for dh to get to work, and our electric bill. I already had to put off our water and gas bill till next time. Nothing left for groceries or other necessities. I have to borrow money from my brother tomorrow. We havent had to borrow money in ages... as for Christmas, I cant start shopping for another 2 weeks....talk about last minute, lol!!!
You know ladies, we are all having a pretty rough time, but I think that we are all blessed way beyond financials. We have wonderful husbands who are supporting most of our families and children that are the greatest gifts ever given. I think that we all need to see this so that we don't let our finances drag us all down. I look around me and I see all these things. I may not have a lot of money, but I have a beautiful condo, 3 intelligent, fun loving kids, a husband that supports me emotionally and in everyway possible. I have food in my cabinet, water to drink, air to breath, and a heart that is full of love. I pray that you all are blessed unexpectedly this year, even though it may not be in the way that you expect. I pray that you all think about these good things when it seems that all the bad is all that is there! I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful Christmas!
