Outside Christmas Decorations... LET"S SEE THEM!

Do you go overboard decorating the outside? By now we should be done, but the weather has been awful! The rain and wind the past 4 days has made it impossible for me to go out and start. I have a ton of lights to do and the funny thing is I live at on a dead end street with only 3 houses on it! No one ever see the house really but us and my cousin next door.

Hopefully they'll get done today and I can put a picture up, but for now I'd rather see yours! LOL

I am going to have to video tape ours because our lights dance to Christmas music.  This is the first year doing it.  We still have more lights to put up and need to add more to the yard.

I do have pictures of the house when my husband was just starting. I will have to take more pictures tonight

I don't put a lot of lights outside because I dread taking them back down.  It's always so much more fun putting them up.... LOL !  So I just put some around the top of the porch, the bannister and the hand rail.

I love the colored icicle lights, there's a house down the street from us who uses them, and I always look forward to seeing it when it's done !!   :)

Thank you,I do too! I always have. When i was growing up all we had was wreaths and candles in the windows, very pretty but boring. It was not until my brother decided we needed lights that we had them in the bushes.  We switched to LED light this year at my house.  My husband does most of the lights, he loves to do this as much as i do.

It's a yearly tradition to drive around town and look at all the lights, we start as soon as we notice someone has them up! And do it weekly to see any new lights that go up!

I have a question though. We rent a house, finally, instead of an apt, and I am wondering if your electric bill goes up much because of all the lights outside. I'd LOVE to add lights outside instead of just inside but am afraid it would cost us wayyyyy to much, that we don't have:( Thanks ladies!

yes, it definantly goes up. Ours was about $150 dollers more then normal.  We are switching over to LED so it will be interesting to see if there is a differance considering the amount we put up.

We've been working on getting ours done, we've got a few days of beautiful weather, hopefully tomorrow we'll finish cause it's supposed to get cold and rainy after 3pm.

Last year we had vandals tear up our display twice, so we're having trouble getting some of the lights working. I also have a huge train inflatable that we've decided not to put it out this year, trying to keep everything as close to the house as possible to avoid anymore damage and keep a better eye on it. We put colored lights around each of the windows and Our christmas tree is standing large in the picture window that helps to add more color. I also have candy canes that light up that still need to be put out.

here's a small video of thie lights so far

We just moved into a new house and it's SO much taller then our old one, so we had to go buy more lights....So my hubby decks the house out, and then....a Chevy Chase moment.....something burned out 1 half of our house GGRRRR!

So we had to take all the lights down...so we swicthed to LED which are beautiful...but very $$$$ so we did our bushes, lighted wreath on the door, garland etc....everything on the lower half of the house. After x-mas I will go out to buy more LED when it's way cheaper for next year.

Sorry i havent taken any pics yet.
