OMG a huge part of the reason i LOVE LOVE LOVE my town is BECAUSE of all the awesome things they do, especially around the holidays!!!!!!

Old Poway Park is doing a tree lighting festival shortly, which also includes turning their little train station into a christmas village where the kids can ride the train with santa and mrs. clause!!  i am SO excited! the park is always beautifully decorated with holidays treats for sale and live christmas musicy bands.

Then, the next weekend at the community center, they IMPORT SNOW (socal LOL) and have a little kids area for the little ones to play in it and build a little ramp kinda thing for the bigger kids to go sledding! its AMAZING! they have a ton of free arts and crafts for the kids to do, and have a life-size version of the board game candy land, dressed characters and all, for the kids to play.  santa, mrs. clause, the snow princesses, and local pageant winners are all present at the event.

they also randomly decorate the whole city as well...miscellaneous trees, all the street lights on the main road =)

simple amazing

Santa will be at the community center tomorrow and the community club pays for every kid to get a picture with him.  If they want to order more, they can do so.  There are door prizes, cookies and punch, crafts, hayrack rides, and candy.

The senior citizens center is writing replies to Santa letters this year.  I think that's adorable!

Last night we went to our annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Stroll.

It's a small town but it's fun - a very community oriented and family friendly event. It's nice to see friends and politicians and businesses all out for the evening.  We always have a good time!

I'm near the Los Angeles Harbor, and we have a Christmas Parade on Sunday, then Santa comes in his sleigh (which is really like a decorated parade float) up and down the streets in the evenings at scheduled times to see the kids. In the next town over Torrance, there is a nighborhood that is so decorated that cars line up to drive through it. We will park our car, bundle up and walk through the neighborhood, then go home and have hot cocoa and Christmas cookies. Torrance usually has a couple of places that import some snow like aurorasmom said!! I love this time of year!!

I AM A 21 YR OLD MOMMY TO JULIUS 3 & ANGELIESE 10MO. I HAD JULIUS WHEN I WAS 17 YEARS OLD AND I DO NOT REGRET IT AT ALL!! I LOVE MY HUBBY, HE WORKS VERY HARD TO MAKE SURE ME AND OUR KIDS ARE TAKEN CARE OF. MY LITTLE PRINCESS HAS A HEART PROBLEM CALLED SVT AND SHE IS OUR LITTLE ANGEL BECAUSE WE ALMOST LOST HER WHEN SHE WAS 2 WEEKS OLD DUE TO HER HEART PROBLEM. JULIUS IS THE MOST ACTIVE 3 YEAR OLD EVER!! HE DOES THE CUTEST THINGS AND HE TELLS ME ABOUT 100 TIMES A DAY THAT HE LOVES ME AND THAT ALWAYS MAKES ME SMILE!!

My hometown in NY has a holiday train that goes through town all lit up with christmas lights and garland.. Its really pretty. Here in Alaska where the army sent us, we can drive about 30 minutes and get to The Santa Claus Shop in North Pole, where Santa visits for nov. to dec. They have santa's Reindeer, Candy Cane lamp posts (year round) and  roads name after santa.. (example.. santa claus Lane)
